Mobile device users in the U.S. are of particular value to many app developers with mobile adoption rates nearing 80% and mobile e-commerce spending accounting for 50% of all digital commerce in 2016.  Digital Turbine has supported hundreds of app developers and advertisers through their Native App Preload solution so far in 2016.  In fact, they have preloaded their partner’s apps on new devices in excess of 50 million times.

Below you can find a “heat map” visualization of where we have found the the highest and lowest conversion rates by state in the U.S. over the past 180 day period.

A conversion is tallied for Native App Preloads when the preloaded app is opened for the first time.

Across the board conversion rates for Digital Turbine’s Native App preloads average about 25 percent. Compared with traditional display advertising, where app install conversion rates vary from 1-2 percent, native app preloads simply outperform legacy display ads, and provide a less intrusive experience for the end customer.

While the overall conversion rate for the US is strong, it’s interesting to see the differences between the states and regions as you drill down.  Users from the South convert an average of 25% higher than the Northeast, where we find our lowest conversion rates. The West and Midwest are stable regions that show similar levels of performance in the middle of the pack. Keep in mind these results are on average across campaigns and mobile devices, so there are many factors that could impact conversion rates.
